New data now intensifies the hurdles Sony’s shooter is dealing with on PC. There is a new game that hasn’t even been announced yet is raking in more players. Concord Can’t Match Unannounced Deadlock Two days into the open beta for Concord, Sony’s upcoming hero shooter seems to be struggling to draw gamers in. Right out of the gate, the title hit a roadblock on PC with meager player numbers, suggesting a rocky road ahead for the PlayStation maker’s title. Meanwhile, an unannounced game is doing better. As pointed out by @MischiefsYT on X, Valve’s Deadlock is currently seeing more players. How is that even possible? At its peak, Firewalk Studios’ beta drew in a mere 2,388 players when the open beta launched two days ago. The unreleased title has already drawn in more with a peak player count of 2,648, which was recorded 13 days ago. Looking at the current player count, Deadlock continues to leave Sony’s shooter in the dust. A Couple Thousand Players Are Already Playing the Unannounced Game data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==At the time of writing, Valve’s unannounced game has more concurrent players than the Concord open beta. Image credit: SteamDB At the time of writing, more than 1,500 people are playing the unreleased game. The number of concurrent players in Sony’s open beta has gone up as well, but hasn’t even hit the 1,000-player mark. Judging by the 24-hour peak, the game drew in almost 1,000 more concurrent players than Firewalk’s shooter, with the first reaching 2,375 players in the last 24 hours and the latter just drawing in 1,447 concurrent players. Leaks surrounding the unannounced title abound, and the creators aren’t stopping them from piling up. Yet, players are still waiting for an official announcement of the third-person 6v6 hero shooter that has been described as a combination of DOTA 2, Overwatch, and Valorant. The player count recorded on SteamDB shows that a couple of thousand users are already playtesting the game, suggesting that an announcement might not be too far off. These numbers are cause for concern for the PlayStation maker, which struggles to find an audience among PC players with its paid title. The open beta, however, is also running on PlayStation 5 and accessible to all PS Plus subscribers and everybody who pre-ordered the game. It is currently not known how many people are playing on the console. What are your thoughts on these player numbers? Have you been playing Sony’s open beta on PC or console? And are you excited to find out more about the unannounced 6v6 shooter? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
