Alex Pearce: Fremantle Dockers captain dons Starlight Foundation-themed arm cast in superb move

Alex Pearce wears his heart on his sleeve – and on Sunday, he was wearing his show of support for the Starlight Children’s Foundation on his left arm.

The Fremantle skipper led from the front in his show of support for the club’s long-time charity partner, giving them a shout-out in his return to action from a fractured forearm.

Playing for the first time since round 15, Pearce was always going to require a cast to help protect his arm.

But in the lead-up to the opening bounce against Melbourne at Optus Stadium, Pearce revealed the Starlight-themed cast, which was purple with some yellow stars in a nod to the foundation.

It complemented the Dockers’ jumpers for their annual Starlight Purple Haze game, depicting a rocket ship flying through stars to signify the journey of Captain Starlights on their journey to help children and their families while in hospital.

The guernsey even includes major sponsor Woodside changing their background colour from red to yellow to support the move.

$50 from each jumper purchased goes to the Starlight Foundation.
