“Special Beam Cannon“—every Dragon Ball fan can hear those words while imagining Piccolo using his index finger near his forehead, charging Ki before he says them. Of the several energy attacks used in the series, this technique holds a special place in the hearts of fans.

As one of Piccolo’s signature attacks, it was obvious for Spike Chunsoft to include it in their upcoming game. But there’s a catch, and an interesting one. It appears to be a penetrating beam in the series, however, Sparking Zero bended it, literally.

Piccolo Did Succeeded in his Mission, Though in an Odd Way

We saw him using the technique during the Saiyan arc against Goku’s brother Raditz in Dragon Ball. That is one interesting instance to think about as he originally invented the Special Beam Cannon to ***** his then-archenemy. He eventually succeeds in this, though in an odd way.

The upcoming game will feature episodic battles where Goku will have a choice to either work with Piccolo or not. That would be interesting to see as if Goku chooses the latter, Raditz may end up ***** in some other way. Maybe it’ll be the Turtle Destruction Wave that’ll go through him.

Sadly, Piccolo himself became victim of the technique when Moro pierces him with it. Nevertheless, that is an instance seen in manga and it never came to fruition in the anime.

In Xenoverse Special Beam Cannon is one unblockable *******. The beam can pass though solid objects too. That was one wrong depiction of it and chances are thin that Spike Chunsoft would have done something like that.
