State Government stumps up half a million dollars to make Fremantle shark barrier happen

The State Government has given $500,000 to the City of Fremantle to build a shark barrier at Bathers Beach — with the council expected to give the project the go ahead this week.

But Fremantle is still $200,000 short of what it needs to build the barrier and a big decision on a $1 million maintenance bill over 10 years.
