Linto worked for many years with the Agricultural Department and was transferred to the Goldfields in 1959 for what was expected to be a few years. He went on to play 107 league games for the Panthers and, upon joining the committee in 1961, served in a variety of roles, including president and league director. His sons, Doug, Paul and Warren each played for Railways, and those strong on-field links continue today through his grandson, Jordan.
