Libby Mettam demands end to ‘Best Practice’ policy as industry warns they give unions too much power

WA ******** leader Libby Mettam has demanded the State scrap a policy that gave construction workers on some projects massive pay increases — claiming their union will use the arrangement as an “ATM and hold our State to ransom”.

The Best Practice Industrial Conditions delivered wages 25 per cent higher than the industry standard to workers on the Tonkin Highway and Thomas Road upgrades.
