To evolve Tandemaus into Maushold in Pokemon GO, you need to use 50 Tandemaus Candy on Tandemaus. That’s it! No adventuring together, no holding your phone upside down… It’s much simpler than evolving Tandemaus into Maushold in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

What is similar to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is that there are two forms of Maushold in Pokemon GO: a Family of Four and a Family of Three. The rarity of each form in Pokemon GO is currently unknown. The silhouette for Maushold will always be the Family of Four form when selecting Tandemaus to evolve, but it has a chance to be a Family of Three.

Pokemon GO: How to Obtain Tandemaus

You need to catch Tandemaus in Pokemon GO before you can evolve it. So far, the only consistent way to obtain Tandemaus is as a Party Play encounter. For players who aren’t able to utilize Party Play, the only other way to obtain Tandemaus at the moment is during the Better Together event.

Pokemon GO Better Together Field Research tasks with possible Tandemaus encounter

Besides the possible Field Research task rewards, the Pokemon GO Better Together event includes two guaranteed Tandemaus encounters: 

• One is for completing all Better Together (1/2) Timed Research tasks,
• And one is for completing all Better Together (2/2) Timed Research tasks.

The Timed Research, as well as the event-exclusive Field Research tasks, end on Monday, July 22, 2024 at 8:00 P.M. local time. During this time, you will get double (2x) Catch Candy, so use Pinap Berries whenever you find a Tandemaus to ensure you’re able to evolve one even after the event is over.

The July Pokemon GO Community Day is on Sunday, July 21, giving players the chance to finish the Better Together Timed Research tasks and catch at least two Tandemaus before the event is over.
