Petrouchka better again as filly looks set to claim feature double in Belmont Classic

Co-trainer Grant Williams says Petrouchka should be better again for this week’s $125,000 Listed Belmont Classic (2200m) as she looks to bounce off a Belmont Oaks success a fortnight earlier.

Petrouchka, who vied for favouritism with Luvnwar for the Oaks after running second to her in the Belmont Guineas, appreciated the rise in distance to turn the tables on her rival and scored by nearly three-quarters-of-a-length.
