A desperate search is underway for a 71-year-old man who disappeared after getting bogged on a dirt track in a remote area of the Mid-West.

Police are urgently seeking the public’s assistance to locate 71-year-old Brian Miles, who went missing in a remote area north of Murchison, near Byro Station.

Mr Miles was travelling in a vehicle with another man on Tuesday afternoon when they ran into trouble and got bogged on a dirt track.

The second man left on foot towards Byro Station to seek help, but when he returned to the car on Wednesday morning, Mr Miles was gone.

Serious concern are held for Mr Miles’ ********.

It is believed he left on foot about 9am on Wednesday in an easterly direction towards Carnarvon-Mullewa Road.

Motorists and others who may be travelling in the area are urged to remain vigilant and contact police on 131 444 if they have any information on the whereabouts of Mr Miles.
