Inmate serving two life sentences ******* at new Folsom Prison

(FOX40.COM) — An inmate ********* investigation is underway at the California State Prison, Sacramento in Folsom after an ******* on an inmate on Sunday, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR).

At 9:10 a.m. three prisoners were seen attacking a lone inmate and forced prison staff to use pepper spray and an “instantaneous blast grenade” to get control over the inmates.

Inmate ****** Schlaepfer, 55, was found to have sustained multiple stab wounds from the ******* and was pronounced ***** at 9:46 a.m. by Folsom ***** Department personnel.

Investigators found two “inmate-manufactured” weapons at the scene of the stabbing.

The three men found to be involved in the stabbing were Gregory ******, 35, Ronald Ricks, 38 and Gregg Reynolds, 46.

Schlaepfer was serving a double life sentence with the possibility of parole for a 1995 second-degree ******* charge and a 2015 charge for assaulting a prisoner with a deadly ******* likely to cause great bodily injury.

****** and Ricks are facing life sentences with the possibility of parole and Reynolds was sentenced to life without parole for first-degree *******.
