Body-worn cameras to be first introduced to Unit 18 ahead of Banksia Hill and Perth Children’s Court rollout

The Justice Department has started the rollout of body-worn cameras in youth detention centres — starting with Casuarina Prison’s notorious Unit 18, where the most troubled and violent juvenile detainees are kept.

Youth Custodial Officers at Banksia Hill Detention Centre, where the great bulk of juvenile detainees are housed, are expected to join them next month.
