**** of War Fans Believe Atreus Would Suffer if He Tried to Follow Kratos’ Footsteps

**** of War fans are convinced that not everyone is cut out to follow the Spartan teachings. Kratos became the **** he is today because his journey was forged in ***** and had the advantage of his heritage to help him endure all the hardships it may not do the same for his son.

Kratos was given a second chance of being a father and did his best to keep his past life away from Atreus. Being part giant and demigod can be a curse as Atreus sets out to navigate his life away from his father’s shadow.

Atreus Is Not Cut Out for the Same Path the **** of War Has Taken

Santa Monica Studio took a gamble introducing Atreus as a buddy throughout the Norse Saga and gave Kratos a second chance. Not knowing the truth of his godhood, Atreus did everything to gain the approval of the former **** of War and felt that he was unwanted given their differences. Some fans theorized that Atreus purposely scarred his face to feel more like his father.

Atreus was weak compared to his father and believed he was unwanted because of his physical attributes when in reality Kratos fears he has nothing good to offer and does not know how to show affection. Despite being part giant and a demigod, the gaming community believes Atreus wouldn’t last a day at the Spartan boot camp.

His godly powers will serve him well, especially since Atreus accepted his godhood and is no longer in denial after Kratos reluctantly told him the truth to save him from even greater pain. Atreus is not like his father which is not a bad thing, each of these characters has certain characteristics that complement the other.

The ending of **** of War Ragnarok suggests that there are more stories to tell and the franchise can carry on without Kratos being the lead. It was inevitable for Atreus to set out on his journey without his father and could be the only playable character in a future game.

The **** of War Wouldn’t Want Atreus to Undergo the Spartan Trainings Despite His Advantages

Kratos never underestimated his son but feared for his future if he were to walk on a similar path. As a father, Kratos wants his son to be safe from harm and to give him the best life possible.

Being a **** is not easy and Kratos knew the risks and consequences. He believes Atreus takes up from his mother, Faye, and if he underwent the cruel conditions of being a warrior, that bit of goodness and innocence would be taken away.

The father-son duo grew closer and became more open during their time on Helheim fighting Garm and realized they are more alike than they would like to admit. Kratos would rather **** than see his son suffer a similar fate and view his godhood as a curse.

Kratos is ashamed of his past and wants something better for Atreus and believes the Spartan teachings will cause more harm than good. It is his way of parenting his only son.
