Albany gluten-free baking master Susan Retzlaff named BEAIWA pastry champion of 2024

A humble local chef has beat out prestigious bakeries from around the State to snag the champion pastry of the year award with her gluten-free chocolate brownie slice.

Susan Retzlaff, of Albany Free Range Chef, took out three awards at the Baking Industry Employer’s Association of Western Australia’s Champion Pastry of the Year with her gluten-free slices, proving again that gluten-free options can be just as good as non-gluten-free options.
