Forbidden West’s PC Port Pleases Fans At Launch

Horizon: Foribbden West Complete Edition is now available on PC platforms, having been expertly ported from PlayStation by the likes of Nixxes Software, one of the biggest names in the space for that kind of thing.

By all accounts, Forbidden West is a wonder on PC, racking up more than 2,200 reviews and garnering a ‘Very Positive’ rating on Steam. By numbers, it’s the sixth most popular PS Studios launch on PC, but it’s expected to climb that chart and overtake The Last of Us Part I, which has a lead over Forbidden West by just 1,000 players.

Forbidden West is being lauded as one of the most stable, well-delivered ports in the history of PS Studios. In the last few years, we’ve seen The Last of Us, Spider-Man, **** of War, Days Gone, and of course, Horizon Zero Dawn all make their way onto PC, and some of those titles have debuted to a laughable reception. For instance, The Last of Us Part I, which was dripping with bugs and performance issues at launch.

By comparison, Forbidden West is enjoying a streak of positivity backed up by strong reviews across the board. It has racked up

of 35,168 users on Steam, which is only a short distance behind The Last of Us Part I, which boasts an all-time peak of 36,496. Zero Dawn, which was one of the first PS Studios games to be ported, had a peak of 56,557 – but it was considered something of an experiment for PlayStation.

For those who haven’t played Forbidden West, it’s well worth a spin. The Complete Edition comes with everything you’ll need to enjoy the game in full, including the Burning Shores expansion that was the talk of the town when it was released last year. In my opinion, it’s one of the best open-world apocalyptic games you’ll ever see, and it’s simply gorgeous on the surface.
