The studio is well-known for creating The Witcher series and Cyberpunk 2077. In 2021, the studio announced that it is working on several new projects, including a sequel to Cyberpunk 2077 and new titles in The Witcher series. Given the popularity of Cyberpunk 2077, it makes sense why most of the fans were more excited about its sequel but it seems like CD Projekt Red is more interested in expanding its Witcher franchise. He revealed some interesting information about the future plans of the studipo. In the interview, Sasko talked about all the games in the Witcher series. He explained that the next game is “the most advanced of all of those.“ Sasko also highlighted that a lot of employees, around “400 people,” are working on this project. Independent studio The Molasses Flood, which was acquired by the studio in October 2021 is also working on this project. The first game in the Witcher series, The Witcher, was released in 2007 and thankfully, it was a success. The game played a key role in laying down the foundation of the franchise. The Witcher 4 Will Be Nothing Like The Previous Witcher Games data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///ywAAAAAAQABAAACAUwAOw==The last game in the Witcher series, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, was released in May 2015. Image via CD Projekt Red Thanks to the positive response, the development of sequels began right after The Witcher‘s release. Earlier this year, CEO Michał Nowakowski talked about the next game in the franchise. He gave fans a rough idea of what they can expect from the next Witcher game in their most recent This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up . He claimed, You should not be expecting ‘The Witcher 3 in new clothing’ of sorts; of course, we’re building on the shoulders of what came before, and on what we’ve learned, but we will be adding new gameplay elements and new mechanics that you have not seen in our previous games. After The Witcher, fans got The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in 2011, and just like its predecessor, it was a tremendous success. However, the most important game in the series was the next one, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The third game took three and a half years to develop. However, all the hard work paid off as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was a massive success and kept the studio afloat. After the Cyberpunk 2077 blunder, the developer needs to make sure that the development of the next Witcher game doesn’t get rushed. Which game are you looking forward to?
