Travis Pastrana bins his 643kW Subaru wagon at Goodwood

Action sports star Travis Pastrana took his all-or-nothing approach to just about everything a bit too far at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed, crashing the much-loved ‘Family Huckster’ on the hillclimb.

Mr Pastrana has taken on Goodwood before, including an appearance at last year’s edition in the heavily modified Subaru GL Wagon, known as the Family Huckster, where he placed second in the Sunday Shootout.

Unfortunately the same result couldn’t be replicated this year, as on his fast run at the end of the day, Mr Pastrana understeered off the road at the tricky Molecomb corner.

He ran into a row of hay bales but fortunately stopped short of nearby photographers.

The 643kW gymkhana car was unable to move again, however its damage appears to be relatively light – at least in comparison to some of the crashed rally cars its creator Vermont SportsCar has had to rebuild.

He wasn’t the only driver to come unstuck through the event or even in the Sunday Shootout.

A Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus SCG 004C, driven by Piero Longhi, crashed after touching the grass at the ***** which leads to the main straight, impacting the wall of hay bales.
