Collie incident: Police remain searching for Joseph James Horohau Coombe after alleged *********

A gunman ******** on the loose after a ********* in the southwest.

Tactical Response Group Officers and Bunbury detectives remain on the hunt for 34-year-old Joseph James Horohau Coombe after a firearm incident in Collie on Sunday morning.

Police were called about 8.15am over reports a man had been shot on Clifton Street.

The victim — who is aged in his 30s — suffered gunshot wounds to both his hands and attended Collie Hospital.

His condition ******** unknown.

“It is believed the incident involved persons known to each other, and was not a random incident,” police said.

The West understands police have deployed extensive resources to try and catch Mr Coombe as part of their ongoing investigation into the *********.

About 8:15am, police received information regarding a man being shot in Clifton Street, Collie. The man,
who is aged in his 30s, received gunshot wounds to both his hands and attended Collie Hospital.
It is believed the incident involved persons known to each other, and was not a random incident.
Mr Coombe is described as being fair skinned, 180cm tall, of medium build with brown hair and green
eyes.
He is believed to frequent the Australind, Collie and general South West region.
While this is being treated as a targeted incident, Mr Coombe may be armed with a firearm and should
not be approached by members of the public. Any sightings of Mr Coombe should be reported to Police

However, police on Monday morning said Mr Coombe ******** outstanding.

He is described as being 180cm tall, medium build with green eyes and fair-skinned.

It is understood officers from the tactical response group and the police airwing visited properties in Australind and Collie on Sunday, but Mr Coombe was nowhere to be seen. It is believed Mr Coombe was linked to these properties.

He is known to visit Australind, Collie and the South West region, police say.
