Baldivis ******: Major ****** probe after Kia towing caravan crashes on Kwinana Freeway

The Kwinana Freeway has been thrown into chaos after firefighters cut free an elderly woman involved in a serious ****** on Sunday morning.

WA Police major ****** officers are probing the circumstances of the incident after a red Kia Sorrento SUV, which was towing a caravan, crashed and veered off the Kwinana Freeway southbound, near Karnup Road, around 10.35am.

A Department of ***** and Emergency Services spokesman said crews responded to a car rollover before a 72-year-old woman had to be cut from the Kia using hydraulic tools.

She was transferred to Royal Perth Hospital with serious injuries after being freed around 11.45pm.

Police say a 77-year-old man behind the wheel of the car was uninjured.

Traffic was backed up just before Safety Bay Road by 2.30pm — more than four hours after the incident.

The left lane of the Kwinana Freeway southbound remained closed on Sunday afternoon.
