had a preliminary court hearing Friday in Forrest County Justice Court.

Samir Green, 16, of Hattiesburg, was denied bond for a second time by Hattiesburg Municipal Judge Mary Moore Conville for his alleged role in Daniels’ ****** on June 11. Green faces one charge of capital ******* and one charge of attempted armed carjacking, which was withheld by Conville at $100,000. Green is being charged as an ******.

Conville also denied a motion to dismiss the charges, citing sufficient probable cause.

Hattiesburg police has said the investigation is ongoing.

The three others who were arrested — Orlando May, Allen Marcus Gardner and Nytavion Shaw — haven’t had preliminary hearings. They all have been charged with the same two counts; May faces additional charges of felony eluding and motor vehicle theft.

Hattiesburg Police detective Chandra Daniels (no relation to MJ Daniels) was the lone person to testify Friday, providing new pieces of evidence as to what happened the night of the ********* and the succeeding days.

campus. There, they found MJ Daniels ***** in the driver’s seat of his ****** Dodge Challenger with one gunshot wound to the back of his head near his neck.

She added that they found two bullet holes on the car — one on the passenger’s side and one on the driver’s side. The driver’s side bullet did not enter the vehicle. A 9 mm shell casing was found near the passenger’s side of the car. Fingerprints, including those of Green, were discovered on the exterior of the car.

Three witnesses were identified at the scene but their names have not been released to the public. One female witness, according to Daniels, said she was walking her dog at the Ivy Row apartment complex when she noticed four ****** males following her before the *********. The female called her roommate as she walked back to her apartment and the four males turned around and walked away as she neared the door of her unit.

May, Gardner and Green were arrested two days after the *********. Shaw was arrested on June 20.

May and Green were arrested together near Hattiesburg High School, according to Daniels. It’s unclear who was driving, but a police officer pulled the two of them over after recognizing it as a reported stolen vehicle. They sped away from police before fleeing on foot and being apprehended by police. A .38-caliber handgun was found in the car.
