When I was a ****, I wanted nothing more than a dungeon-delving experience, which is why I invested so much time into The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. But it never truly scratched that ***** altogether. In steps titles such as Dark and Darker and Dungeonborne, taking the adventure to new heights. But how high? For instance, is Dungeonborne PvP? Is Dungeonborne PvP Only? No, Dungeonborne is not solely a PvP game. It does heavily rely on PvP to keep you on the edge of your seat, however. When you first load into the dungeon of your choosing, you’ll do so likely surrounded by AI enemies in the immediate area. In my first game, I stumbled upon waist-high goblins and soaring vampiric bats. That said, it wasn’t long before I encountered my first player. It was a tense PvP ****** in Dungeonborne! He took a swing, connected with my helm, as I frantically tried to avoid a ghostly apparition from behind. It was chaotic, but we parted ways after the iconic wiggle and went along separate paths. As mentioned, Dungeonborne does feature quite a bit of PvP, but you’ll wind up engaged in PvE more often than not. That’s because Dungeonborne is a PvPvE game, similar to Hunt: Showdown, in which there are AI enemies scattered about the map to contend with, then players roaming in search of treasure and a safe escape, just like you. You can enjoy an entire round without ever encountering a player. If you’re careful, you can skirt around a party, take a different route, ambush another player, or engage in head-on combat in a battle of might! Dungeonborne is shaping up to be an exceptional medieval extraction game, and it’s not the only one. The extraction shooter genre is on the rise!
