, the PlayStation Portal, Sony’s handheld cloud streaming hardware, is the best selling gaming accessory year-to-date. In addition, it was also the best selling accessory in the U.S. and *** in the month of May.

The PlayStation Portal was the best-selling accessory in dollar sales for both May and 2024 year-to-date.

The PlayStation Portal, which allows users to stream their PlayStation 5 console onto a smaller handheld screen via cloud technology. It originally launched in November 2023 and sold out in the U.S. and *** within two days.

In addition, Piscatella revealed that accessory spending overall reached a total of $148 million, an 8% drop from last year. However, headphone and headset spending increased 10% in contrast. Gamepad sales have dropped 12%. It looks as though hardware and accessory sales in general are seeing a slight dip overall from 2024. This may change if the rumored Xbox handheld is announced or released later this year but as of yet, this has yet to occur.
