Follow Their Traces is the first quest you will get when you switch to Bunny Descendant in The First Descendant. This guide will cover how to unlock and complete the Follow Their Traces quest, along with the location of the Journal.

How to Unlock Follow Their Traces Bunny Quest in The First Descendant

Completing the Follow Their Traces quest in The First Descendant requires finding a journal in The Restricted Zone in the Sterile Lands. However, you must first unlock the Bunny Descendant and the Sterile Land region by completing the story quests.

After you unlock Bunny and switch to her character, you will get the Follow Their Traces as the first mission of the questline. The quest covers the backstory of the character and her parents.

Now that you have unlocked the quest, the next step is to unlock the Restricted Zone in the Sterile Land region. Complete the Successful Infiltration quest for Sharen in Sterile Land to unlock the Restricted Zone region, where you will find the record you are searching for.

Where to Find Follow Their Traces Bunny Quest Record in Restricted Zone

Once you are in the Restricted Zone region, run to the bottom of the map towards the cliff edge to find the record. It is right past the High-Powered Jammer mission on the map. You will see the edge of the area with a cliff at the bottom you can jump on. Jump down there and you will find the Journal in the location shown in the picture above.

Interact with the Journal to pick it up. It will go into your inventory and you can listen to it by navigating to Journal > Records > Descendants. You will find the record there by the name of “Emergency Communications Records – Agent Cayden Voltia.” Play the record to complete the quest and unlock the next one for the Bunny Descendant questline.

That is all you need to do to complete the Follow Their Traces quest. Another one of the quests in the questline similar to this is The Traces Continue, where you also need to find a Journal that is hidden away at a secret location.
