Polaroid Snap+ Instant Print Camera Launched at CES 2016

Polaroid unveiled an upgraded version of its popular Snap instant camera, called the Snap, last week at CES. There’s no price tag on it just yet, but the company has said it will be bringing it to the market in the last quarter of 2016.

The Snap gets some well-deserved upgrades like a new 13-megapixel CMOS sensor and a 3.5-inch LCD display for a viewfinder. The camera is also capable of full-HD video recording and you can now use up to 128GB microSD cards for storage. Polaroid has also added Bluetooth connectivity which can be used in conjunction with the Polaroid print app on your Android or iOS device for adding filters, stickers, effects, etc. Of course, this wouldn’t be an instant camera if you couldn’t print pictures on-the-fly. Just like the earlier model, the Snap uses Zink printing technology which lets you instantly print colour 2×3-inch photos without the need for any cartridges. You can ****** up to 10 pictures at a time for printing as well. The company has also added a self-timer and pop-up mirror for taking selfies.

Speaking on the launch, Mr. Scott W. Hardy, President and CEO of Polaroid, said “Our brand’s renewed focus on product design has allowed us to bring new and exciting products – such as the Polaroid Snap – to market that evoke an emotional connection with our consumers.  Above all things, our brand is known for being fun and for the nostalgic instant photography experience which is our legacy. Now that we’ve reinvigorated that experience with digital technologies, its allowing Polaroid to reintroduce the idea of ‘click and print’ photography to a new generation of consumers.”
