The user said the RNG patent does not mean that The First Descendant has this system but added that “this raises an eyebrow considering the game being a Looter Shooter.” They also said that nothing can be confirmed or denied as it cannot be datamined given “everything is server side.”

They shared a

thread that mentions the player based RNG patent by Nexon for Maplestory. This allegedly includes decreases drop rates if there is a lot of user activity, increased drops for players with low activity, changing drop rates as per location, number of friends, current items, and more.

Several players had no idea about this, and many wondered how the company managed to patent RNG. It is not known for certain if The First Descendant uses RNG, but many players have said this is not right if it does, with one player adding, “That’s evil and serves a spot in *****!!!”

Another player said that Nexon has done this in the past but hope that it is not doing this to this game as they like it.
