Everyone Agrees It’s Not the Bosses that Cause the Most Deaths in Soulsborne Games

If you’ve been a fan of the Souls genre long enough, you must be well-versed in how challenging games like Elden Ring, Sekiro, or ***** of P can genuinely be. There is a reason, after all, why these games have become infamous and sparked much discourse within the larger gaming spectrum.

However, most veterans will also recall how it is never the terrifying warriors or creatures that are straight out of some Lovecraftian fiction that pose the biggest challenge. Nope, the true MVP of racking up player deaths is something else altogether.

Gravity Continues to Take Down Players in Games Like ***** of P

Alright, let’s get one thing straight—the simple act of falling off cliffs has become a little more uncommon these past few years. With things like Shadow of the Erdtree driving the focus away with its seemingly impossible bosses, it makes sense why fewer players would be talking about their biggest run *******.

That’s not to say that it has completely vanished, though:

After seeing how gravity has also been nerfed in FromSoftware games, starting with Sekiro, it is wholesome to see players still experiencing what it can do in Souls games such as ***** of P.

The most heartwarming bit is how we’re long past the age when gravity would illicit moments of complete rage and a few rounds of smashing our environment.

We’ve all been there at this point, and the beauty of these games ***** in their ability to surprise and challenge us in the most unexpected ways. After all, what’s a Souls game without a few funny and humbling gravity-induced deaths?

Remember, FromSoftware Trolled Elden Ring Players, All in the Name of Gravity

FromSoftware and its developers may be masters in their craft, but they are also one very cheeky group of trolls. If you can recall—provided you’re still functioning after facing off all the horrors in Shadow of the Erdtree—the base game gave us a talisman called Longtail Cat Talisman.

Now, anyone who has stuck with these games long enough knows how effective these Cat talismans can be in negating fall damage. In Elden Ring, however, FromSoftware got us all by the tail by making the talisman effectively useless.

Many may recall memories of trying to reach some far-off place below in the Lands Between using this talisman and falling to their demise. Well, that’s Hidetaka Miyazaki for you; even after nerfing gravity, he still found a way for us to fall into its clutches.

With that said, what are your thoughts on this? How many times did you **** due to gravity in Shadow of the Erdtree? Let us know in the comments below.
