Since the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, you may have seen thousands of clips floating around the internet of players dying in 1 or 2 hits right after summoning other players and entering the boss gate.

Even though the problem of players ignoring their character’s vigor has been a significant issue since the start of Elden Ring, it has never been more obvious than in the game’s expansion, considering the same people are now seemingly ignoring the expansion’s Scadutree Fragments.

Here’s the thing, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware may give Elden Ring players some strange advice every now and then, but no matter what, you should absolutely heed their advice about leveling up your Scadutree Fragment in the expansion.

Much of the Elden Ring community has made it abundantly clear that people have been avoiding the small amount of effort it takes to find these fragments and, on top of that, they are not leveling up their Vigor.

The people, with seemingly low HP and no Fragments to their name, keep brute-forcing their way through Shadow of the Erdtree and dying. When that happens, they try to summon others to help them, only to not even them a chance to enter the battlefield, as the bosses wipe players out in 1 or 2 hits.

Considering that, it makes sense why people’s ignorance has caused so many co-op helpers to be justifiably frustrated, with many now abandoning all attempts at helping others.

One can notice this in the game, too, as the Remembrance bosses, even in the base game, have noticeably fewer summon signs despite the high player count. 

It Still Needs to Be Determined Why This Problem Is Mainly Happening in Elden Ring

Look, any gamer would probably agree that Shadow of the Erdtree is one of the most brutal gaming experiences FromSoftware has produced. However, ask anyone who has played FromSoftware’s past games, and they’ll admit that the issue of Vigor and Scadutree Fragments is exclusive to this one game.

At the moment, most attribute this to the game’s “Tourist” problem: players who have never truly experienced what a Souls game is are jumping into the game and its expansion with zero knowledge of how things work.

Another prevalent theory is that people are trying to run through Erdtree as quickly as they can, ignoring all exploration and Fragments except for the few they can easily stumble onto, which is where the lack of Scadutree levels is coming from.

Whatever the case may be, FromSoftware may need to step in soon to maintain the game’s multiplayer and ensure that players get to experience Erdtree the way it was intended.
