A Big Change is Needed in Pokemon Go According to Some Players, and We Think This One Needs a Petition

Pokemon Go is an enjoyable version of Pokemon where gamers can play with each other and strive towards becoming the best Pokemon trainer out there! Ever since its release in 2016, the game has been going strong, with players all over the globe.

In recent years, Niantic has delivered major updates and quality-of-life improvements to Pokemon Go. One of these reduced the lobby timers for the game’s raiding feature. While many applauded Niantic for bringing such a requested improvement to the game, some players want the developers to remove the lobby timer altogether to ease stress.

Niantic Should Consider Removing Raid Lobby Timers in Pokemon Go

When you kick off a Raid in Pokemon Go, you enter a lobby and have 120 seconds to wait until the Raid starts. This crucial time allows you to retool your team, heal any Pokemon you forgot about, and, most crucially, allow other trainers the chance to join in.

While the lobby timer is an incredibly crucial aspect of the game’s raiding system, one trainer on

believes it’s completely unnecessary as it creates “tension” among raiders.

One of the fundamental problems of the lobby timer in raids is that it puts pressure on players and restricts them from properly planning before hitting the gym.

If Niantic removes the lobby timer in Pokemon Go‘s raid battles, it can significantly improve the experience as they’ll have more time to strategize and invite players. It’s the right way to give trainers more flexibility and control instead of forcing them to battle.

While the idea of removing lobby timers can be beneficial for trainers, it comes with its downsides as well.

There’s a high chance we could see some players taking excessive time to get ready for raids, which can cause frustration for others who are waiting to get into the battle. The developers need to plan carefully before removing raid lobby timers.

Niantic Needs to Focus On Player Feedback

After the disaster of Rayquaza Elite Raid Day, it’s clear that Niantic isn’t listening to its player base. If Niantic removes lobby timers or brings other requested quality-of-life improvements, players will appreciate the developer’s effort and spend even more time enjoying Pokemon Go.

The Pokemon these events and raid battles offer are some of the most valuable in the game, and players don’t want to miss out on them, but Niantic’s game design gets in the way.

We can only hope Niantic listens to player feedback more and continues to deliver content that satisfies players.

Do you think Niantic can improve Pokemon Go‘s raiding system in any other way? Let us know in the comments.
