Wickedly Funny Show Horrible Histories – Terrible Tudors Returns to London West End’s Apollo Theatre

Birmingham Stage Company

Following two hugely successful summer holiday runs, Birmingham Stage Company have announced the return of Horrible Histories – Terrible Tudors for their third consecutive year at the West End’s Apollo Theatre. Audiences will be whisked off on a whistle stop tour full to the brim with the goriest and most gruesome details pertaining to the Tudor dynasty, from the demise of Richard III to the end of the reign of Elizabeth I. Find out the fate of Henry’s wives and his contretemps with the Pope. Encounter ******* Mary and see Ed fall ***** in his bed! Hear the shocking truth about methods of ******** and punishment for ******* in the production of Terrible Tudors which opens on 25th July and runs until 1st September 2024.

Actor and Manager of Birmingham Stage Company Neal Foster credits three factors with making the production’s return to the West End so special: “my acting partner Emma Swan is hilariously brilliant to work with; the Apollo is my favourite West End playhouse; and it’s a dream to be back in town with the Tudors for our third summer in a row. It doesn’t get any better!”

Celebrating the twentieth anniversary of when the best-selling series by Teary Deary was first brought to the stage by Birmingham Stage Company, the family phenomenon also celebrates the milestone of its 13 years in the West End; thrilling families and tourists alike with its unique take on the often macabre past of the British Isles and beyond. The company’s award-winning productions include favourites such as Horrible Christmas, Rotten Royals, Barmy Britain and Groovy Greeks.

Horrible Histories – Terrible Tudors is directed by Neal Foster, starring Neal Foster and Emma Swan, designed by Jacqueline Trousdale, with lighting by Jason Taylor, music by Matthew Scott, sound by Nick Sagar, with choreography by Kenn Oldfield.
