The first title was iconic, however, Watch Dogs 2 and Watch Dogs Legion ******* to live up to the expectations and fell flat. Due to the underwhelming commercial performance of the recent games, Ubisoft canceled several projects related to the franchise. It seemed like the franchise was completely *****, but with the movie adaptation finally hitting production, there’s still hope for the franchise. Watch Dogs Film Can Save the Iconic Franchise From Trenches Watch Dogs movie hits production. | Image via Ubisoft Over a decade after the adaptation was announced, production of a live-action Watch Dogs film has finally kicked off. The announcement comes via an X/ This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up post that shows a clapper board on the set of the live-action adaption of the video game franchise. Although the image doesn’t reveal much about the upcoming movie, it does show someone sitting at the computer with headphones on, indicative of the setting for this particular scene. While it’s still unknown what part of the movie this is from, it’s finally the confirmation we all have been desperate for. Considering the state of the games in the franchise, many in the community are surprised that Ubisoft didn’t outright abandon the film project. It seems like despite its downfall in the last couple of years, the publisher is still pushing the franchise and trying its best to keep it alive. Wow the franchise is alive — JorRaptor (@Jorraptor) This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up In the past, we’ve seen tons of live-action adaptions of video game franchises revitalizing player interest in the games. If the publisher doesn’t fumble this movie, it could pull in millions of new fans, which would lead to the company finally giving us the much-requested Watch Dogs 4. What Can We Expect From The Movie? The movie might pick elements from the first game. | Image via Ubisoft Unfortunately, we still don’t have a shred of idea on which game the movie is going to pull its plotline from. However, it would make the most sense for the adaptation to follow the footsteps of the first game, with Aiden kickstarting a war against technology company Blume for whatever happened to his niece. On his journey, he teams up with Clara Lillie, a member of the hacker group DedSec, and forms an alliance. If we’re truly going to see the first game as a baseline for the film, then it will make sense if Blyth plays Aiden and Wilde is cast as Clara. Although it’s still unconfirmed, Blyth’s role in Songbirds & Snakes cast would make him the ideal candidate for a role like the video game character. Even Wilde’s acting in Talk to Me makes her a special choice for Clara. It’s crucial to keep in mind that the film has just started *********. It’s going to be a long while before we get to hear about the adaptation. With two talented actors in the leading roles, their performance will play a massive part in how well the film’s story reaches the audience. Are you excited for the Watch Dogs film?
