Man *****, three teens charged, others on the run after deadly ****** in Burwood, Melbourne

A third teenager has been charged after and a man is ***** after an allegedly stolen vehicle was involved in a horrific ******.

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Warrigal and Highbury Rd on Tuesday night after the allegedly stolen Jeep Cherokee T-boned a 28-year-old man’s Toyota hatchback.

The Ashburton man ***** at the scene as four young males fled on foot.

Two teenage ******, aged 15, were arrested at the scene and have since been charged with theft of a motor vehicle.

The pair were bailed to appear before a children’s court at a later date.

On Wednesday evening, police arrested a 17-year-old boy in Malvern East and he has since been charged with multiple offences including, culpable driving causing ******, dangerous driving causing ******, fail to stop and render assistance, theft of motor vehicle and unlicensed driving.

The boy ******** in custody and will appear before a children’s court on Thursday.

Police confirmed three other youths fled through Burwood Reserve following the collision and are believed to have discarded a number of personal items in the park, including gloves.

The Jeep was allegedly stolen during an aggravated burglary in Cranbourne South on Friday before it was used for robberies in Ormond and Ripponlea on Sunday.

Detective Senior Sergeant ********** Von Tunk described the teens actions as “cowardly”.

“The impact was tremendous, it was a high speed impact, they knew someone would have been hurt in that vehicle,” he said according to the Herald Sun.

“To leave a person either injured or ******* in another vehicle and then run away is cowardly, it’s absolutely cowardly, it’s just outrageous, that’s what it is.”
