Helldivers 2 Fans are Losing Patience as Latest Patch Continues to Ignore the Game’s Biggest Issue

Helldivers 2 Fans seem to be losing patience as they wait to add their cross-platform buddies between PlayStation 5 and PC. Arrowhead Game Studios CEO Johan Pilestedt addressed the request quite a few times but fans continue to post requesting the feature. Ever since the game’s launch, the well-made live-service title has got PlayStation 5 and PC gamers rating it ever so highly.

The post-launch content so far has also added a lot of quality to the game, with the game setting the bar high for future live-service games. Gamers are not able to add contacts from either of the two available platforms and feel disconnected from friends who are not playing the game on the same platform.

Helldivers 2 Players Getting Impatient Waiting to Accept Cross-Platform Contacts

Players not being able to add their cross-platform buddies is infuriating Helldivers 2 players.

Helldivers 2 Devs continue to squash bugs as frequent patches keep the game free from known issues through frequent patches. On the other hand, players continue to post to Arrowhead and CEO Johan Pilestedt asking for an update on Cross-Platform issues to be sorted.

The cross-platform friend invite bugs were also addressed under the known issues section in the patch that was released today. These were the related issues mentioned:

• Cross-platform friend invites might not show up in the Friend Requests tab.
• Players cannot unfriend other players befriended via friend code.
• Players cannot unblock players that were not in their Friends list beforehand.
• Players cannot befriend players with Steam names shorter than 3 characters.

Players are, however, getting impatient for the cross-platform invites to be fixed.

PS5 invites are also bugged but invitations through the console menu seem to work.

Pilestedt also posted on X about the team actively working on finding a solution to adding cross-platform players which he stated is seen to be working for some but is broken for others.

I tried adding all my friends from PC on my PS5 account and it worked well. The problem here is doing the diagnosis, some players seem to have issues but others don’t. Our team is on it and it’s being actively discussed at the studio.

Today’s Helldivers 2 patch also mentioned several known issues that should hopefully be fixed in upcoming updates.

Patch Mentions Several Other Known Issues as Well

Regular patches have continued to fix issues while also addressing several known issues in the game.

There’s a known issue related to Hellpod steering as well which gets disabled when steering close to large or important objects. Other known issues include players sometimes getting Exosuits delivered to them in a broken or damaged state, and being unable to select a loadout when joining a multiplayer through an activity card.

One of the fixed issues from the latest patch includes Exosuits not destroying themselves while ******* a missile as players turn at the same time. This was also a long-standing issue addressed by players as it affected them a lot. The other two fixes include these:

• Reduced incidents of patrols spawning on players.
• Exosuit retains its melee functionality, even when damaged.

While the patches are getting frequent with more bugs and glitches fixed in the game, players are getting more and more impatient about cross-platform issues to be sorted out first.
