Valorant’s Nerf to Fan-Favourite Hero Shows Riot Don’t Always Get What the Community Wants

Valorant is a trendy title. The Riot Games hero shooter has been consistently attracting players for itself. Because of its massive player base, the game’s meta changes always spark varied fan reactions.

Buffing and nerfing heroes and weapons in the title isn’t out of place; it is done to keep the game fresh. However, it doesn’t always reflect the community’s requirements and aspirations from the hit game.

Valorant Players Wonder if Raze’s Ultimate Ability Has Been Nerfed

Raze is one of the most famous heroes in the game, alongside Cypher and Omen. Her ultimate is the Showstopper, which sees the agent pull out a bazooka, ******** the ****** in one shot. That is, at least, the intended outcome of her ultimate ability.

However, a player on the game’s subreddit has posted a clip on the game’s subreddit which could make readers question their choices if they are a Raze main:

As seen in the video above, it is doubtful of Raze’s ultimate ability to miss by such a considerable margin. Players commented on the post and reassured the original poster that they weren’t alone.

For example, a player commented that they have gone through something similar in the past, too, and it was incredibly frustrating for them:

Another player sarcastically commented on Clove, another famous agent in the game:

However, other players pulled out the classic ‘skill issue’ quip in the post’s comment section:

It is worth noting that the player used their ultimate *******, and the projectile ended up behind their ******. This could be because they bunny-hopped just before ********* Raze’s ultimate ability, or it could be another change made in the game that players don’t appreciate.

Bunny Hopping Is a Serious Problem, Plaguing Many Competitive Shooters

Competitive shooters place a lot of emphasis on movement that allows for mobility and, at the same time, makes your ****** more likely to miss. Some games, like XDefiant recently came under ***** for penalizing bunny-hopping while aiming down sights.

Since Valorant is similar to its direct rival Counter-Strike 2, but it differs in allowing Aiming Down Sights in every *******, bunny hopping is possible. This has been a topic of discussion on the game’s subreddit:

Now, it is known that bunny hopping is penalized in titles by introducing external inaccuracy, which seems to be the case in the clip embedded above. It is unclear and cannot be concluded based on one clip alone if this was a case of the game penalizing bunny-hopping or the game team nerfing Raze.

What do you think? Do you think Raze has been nerfed or was the clip a testament to a ‘skill issue’ on the player’s end? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
