AAA Mobile Gaming is ***** on Arrival as *********’s Creed, Resident Evil and Even Hideo Kojima’s ****** Stranding Reportedly Flop

AAA games have always been the crown jewels of the gaming world. Games like *********’s Creed, Resident Evil, and ****** Stranding are all big names with stunning graphics and fun gameplay.

But when these iconic games made the leap to mobile, they didn’t get the reception everyone expected. According to a report, these games have pretty much bombed in the mobile gaming market.

Gamers Don’t Want to Play Resident Evil on Their Phones

*********’s Creed ***** will be released exclusively on mobile devices.

*********’s Creed, Resident Evil, and Hideo Kojima‘s ****** Stranding were supposed to bring console-quality experiences to our phones. However, the reality was quite different. These games didn’t just fall short, they bombed quite hard, according to a

The primary reason seems to be the steep price tags. Gamers aren’t ready to shell out $50 for a mobile game, no matter how good the graphics or story might be. Mobile gaming has always been a different ****** compared to console or PC gaming, and these failures highlight that gap even more. Mobile gamers rarely spend high amounts on games when there are so many either free or cheaper alternatives on phones, and this just proves that point.

Most mobile gamers are used to free-to-play games with in-app purchases. They’re willing to spend money, but not in one big upfront payment. Instead, they prefer spending smaller amounts over time. This is where the AAA titles *******. Asking for $50, or even anything more than $20, is a big ask in the mobile gaming world.

Successful mobile games like Genshin Impact are free to download and make money through in-game purchases. Gamers are fine with spending on new skins, characters, or other in-game items. But paying full price for a single game is a tough sell for them.

What Can Studios and Publishers Learn from This?

The mobile performance for Hideo Kojima’s ****** Stranding was decent.

The recent flops of these games highlight how important it is to understand the mobile market. Gamers didn’t see the value in spending so much upfront for a mobile game, even if it was a port of a beloved console title. This is a clear sign that developers need to rethink their strategies if they want to succeed in the mobile space.

In order for AAA games to be successful on mobile devices, developers need to take a hard look at their pricing strategies and the overall mobile gaming ecosystem. If they want to bring big titles to mobile, they might need to change the prices accordingly or find a middle ground that appeals to mobile gamers, such as focusing more on the free-to-play games that they have in their lineup.

It’s also crucial to optimize these games for mobile devices. Just porting a console game to mobile without considering the different hardware and user experiences is a recipe for disaster. The touch controls which take up half of the screen are likely a big factor in this.

The ******** of these AAA titles on mobile isn’t just about the price. It’s about understanding what mobile gamers want and how they’re willing to spend their money since the amount mobile gamers spend is definitely not comparable to PC or console gamers.
