  2. In the next few hours he will formalise a plea deal and leave a free man following a 14-year legal battle
  3. It emerged that last week, he signed a deal with the US that will see him plead guilty to one espionage charge – instead of the 18 he was originally facing
  4. He will not face further prison time – after pleading guilty, he will be free to return to Australia, his home country
