This used to happen with the release of another Season, but Bungie has shifted away from this model. Guardians no longer need to scramble for new gear to climb up to the cap as frequently. Now that The Final Shape has been released, the Power level cap has risen to 2,000. Guardians will slowly increase their strength, but some extra understanding will streamline this process.
