Bethesda isn’t rushing Fallout 5

Following Prime Video’s live action Fallout TV show, Fallout as a series has never been more popular, but even with the newfound glory, Bethesda boss Todd Howard isn’t trying to rush Fallout 5 out the door. Elsewhere, he revealed Starfield has 14 million players with strong 40-hour averages.

, Howard says that while the game franchise is popular, Bethesda is still taking its time to “get it right.” Its goal is to make experiences that are meaningful to those who love the franchises be it Fallout, Elders Scrolls, or even Starfield. Howard feels it can take its time as the show does fill a niche “in terms of the franchise and storytelling.”

“For other Fallout games in the future, obviously I can’t talk about those right now, but I would say sort of rushing through them, or we need to get stuff out that is different than the work we’re doing in

Right now, the Fallout TV show fills a certain niche in terms of the franchise and storytelling. I totally get the ******* for a new mainline single player game and look, those things take time. I don’t think it’s bad for people to miss things as well.

from earlier this year, Bethesda plans on releasing the next Elder Scrolls first, as it’s switched its attention to the fantasy action RPG since the release of Starfield last year. After that releases, which we still have no concrete date, the Maryland studio will shift gears into the next entry to its post-apocalyptic series.
