Radagon’s Influence on Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree Revealed, and It’ll Have You Questioning Everything You Thought You Knew

Among all of FromSoftware’s titles, Elden Ring has some of the grandiose boss battles. One can state that thanks to advancing technology, FromSoftware can make its bosses more dynamic and fights more memorable.

One of the key aspects of any boss ****** is their signature moves. Whether it’s Malenia’s Waterfowl Dance, Godfrey’s stomp, or Radagon’s hammer strikes, they are easy to identify for the seasoned player. It seems Hidetaka Miyazaki wants players to remember those bosses as enemies in Shadow of the Erdtree.

Enemies in the Elden Ring DLC are not as easy as the base game.

It’s not uncommon in games for regular enemies to take on certain ******* patterns of bosses the player has recently faced. Even in the base game of Elden Ring, many enemies reflect the types of attacks the area’s boss would utilize. However, they did not have the same moves as the bosses, which made the ****** feel far more tense.

Shadow of the Erdtree will bring a slew of new bosses for the Tarnished to face, but they are not the only dangers in the Land of Shadow. On the way to ****** these bosses, the player will come up against a myriad of enemies, and the gameplay has shown they have more than just basic sword swings in their repertoire.

One of the enemies the player goes up against during the showcase is a ****** Knight, a new class of enemies that will resemble the many knights roaming the Lands Between. This knight is equipped with a great shield and a massive hammer. Many of the knights’ attacks are the typical swings and smashes; however, one particular smash causes the ground beneath to ****** and glow golden.

The ******* resembles Radagon’s smash ******* with Marika’s Hammer. A later ****** uses an AoE stomp *******, reminiscent of the stomp ******* used by all the Crucible Knights. Another uses a roar that could knock the player back or offer some buffs to the ******. This is similar to the roar ******* used by the real version of Godfrey.

There’s still some time to practice for the DLC.

Shadow of the Erdtree wouldn’t be a FromSoftware project if it didn’t have some bosses that make you want to tear your hair out. The fact that even regular enemies boast some attacks used by bosses in the base game further affirms Hidetaka Miyazaki’s hint that some enemies are tuned similarly to Malenia.

Along with an army of new enemies, we are also getting new weapons and spells to help take down threats within the Land of Shadow. The Scadutree Blessing, a feature exclusive to the DLC areas, will allow players to gain buffs for their damage and defenses by finding Scadutree Fragments in the world.

However, players should not depend entirely on these Blessings. It’s important to hone your parrying and dodging skills for the DLC, especially given that it is intended for late-game players and can only be accessed by players who have already defeated Radahn and Mohg.

Which attacks are you hoping to see brought back in the DLC? Let us know in the comments below!
