AC Infinity Now Known as ‘Animus Hub’, Could Launch With Shadows

In a recent interview, it was revealed that *********’s Creed Infinity, the core ecosystem that was planned by Ubisoft to act as the beating heart of the AC series, has been renamed. It’s now known as the Animus Hub, but for all intents and purposes, it’ll do the exact same thing (just under a new name), acting as the central nervous system for all things *********’s Creed, much in the way that the Call of Duty HQ is a centrepoint for launching COD titles these days.

, Ubisoft’s VP executive producer, Marc-Alexis Côté, confirmed to Stephen Totilo that the name change had taken effect but it wasn’t confirmed when the ‘platform’ will come into play. However, it was suggested that it’ll land in time for *********’s Creed Shadows, the dual-protagonist title set in Feudal Japan that’s set to be released on November 15.

That’s something that we reported back in February.

*********’s Creed Shadows was revealed with a gameplay breakdown earlier this week at Ubisoft Forward, and it looks pretty fantastic. The character split is heavily evident, with one side behind commanded by the hulking samurai, Yasuke, and the other being represented by the agile and lithe shinobi, Naoe. It looks unequivocally ‘RPG AC’ but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

With a dynamic weather system that includes seasons, a massive open-world map, multiple approaches to missions, and more movement and stealth mechanics than ever before, AC Shadows should be a memorable enough title. It has been a long time coming, too – while 2023’s Mirage was a great stopgap, it didn’t have that much meat on its bones – that’s where Shadows will step up.
