Thanks to Xbox, PS5 Users Can No Longer ****** a Key Feature to Become Aim Gods

Valorant‘s closed beta for consoles is all set to begin later this week but PlayStation players will have to play without one beloved feature: Gyro aiming. This feature allows players to aim in games by moving the controller, thanks to a special sensor called a gyroscope. PlayStation users have been using this feature in almost every ********* video game but will have to play Valorant without it.

Riot Games took this decision to make the gaming experience fair for Xbox Series X/S players since this feature is not available on Xbox controllers. Gyro is the closest thing that console players can have to a mouse, allowing them to aim more precisely. Every other cross-platform video game that allows gyro aiming made the game unfair for Xbox players so Riot Games has finally eliminated that unfair advantage.

Coleman Palm, the Product Management Lead on Valorant, revealed on

that the console version of Valorant will not support Gyro aiming, a feature that PlayStation 5 players have been extensively using in games like The Finals, MWIII, Fortnite, No Man’s Sky, and Helldivers 2. This gyro aiming feature provided PS5 users with a “mouse-like” aim that made it easier for them to churn out ******.

Xbox players haven’t experienced this feature since the Xbox controller doesn’t have a gyroscope but Riot Games’ decision to get rid of the gyro aiming is a good thing for them as this will make the game fair for everyone. Palm made it clear that they didn’t want gyro to be “the way to play” as it would make Riot Games look like they favor PS5 over Xbox consoles.

Riot Games might work on a gyro aiming feature for PlayStation players

In another X post, Coleman Palm claimed that devs at Riot Games are very fascinated by the idea of gyro aiming, hinting that Riot Games could implement such a system in the future only for PlayStation players. He wrote,

I can’t make any promises – game dev is complicated – but I just wanted to highlight that there are VAL devs excited about gyro (including myself!) and it’s not a ****** spot for us, it just had enough speed bumps that it’s not where we wanted to invest heavily right out the gate

Judging by his statement, it seems like Valorant devs have different priorities at the moment but there is a possibility that it might be integrated into the game in the future. Console players in the ******* States, Canada, ******* Kingdom, Europe, and Japan can sign up for Valorant‘s closed beta, which will start on June 14, 1 PM PT, through Riot Games’ official website.
