While Helldivers 2 has succeeded in doing justice to numerous aspects that other live-service games have recently been failing at, there’s one element that Arrowhead hasn’t managed to get right. The multiplayer shooter comes with a wide range of weapons and stratagems for players to use, but Johan Pilestedt and his team haven’t been able to overcome a crucial part of these features.

Balancing goes a long way in ensuring the longevity of a game such as Helldivers 2, which has gotten worse thanks to some recent patches. However, the community had high hopes for a potential balance patch in the near future, but it shouldn’t hold its breath.

Arrowhead hasn’t explicitly said that Helldivers 2 will be getting a balance patch soon.

The main source of communication between Arrowhead and the Helldivers has been the game’s Discord server, where community manager Twinbeard addresses any queries that the fanbase has regarding the title.

Just last week, Twinbeard confirmed that the developers are currently working on an update for Helldivers 2, which resulted in the community getting its hopes up for a potential ******* balancing patch.

Unfortunately, Helldivers 2 players will have to lower their expectations because the community manager has now clarified that Arrowhead has never explicitly stated that the next update will be a “balance update or patch.”

“It’s just that it might send out the wrong signals by calling it that,” wrote Twinbeard, suggesting that the buffs and nerfs that the player base wants added to the game are not exactly the top priority for Arrowhead at the moment.

Regarding when the next Helldivers 2 update, despite not being a balance patch, will be released, the community manager stated that it will take some time to be completely ready and there still is not an “official ETA on it yet.”

The Update May Not Be What the Community Wants, but It Could Be Worthwhile

The weapons have been affected the most in the previous balancing update for the game.

Although Twinbeard did not have a concrete release date to share with the Helldivers 2 fanbase, the community manager did hint at the upcoming patch as a worthwhile addition to the game.

“It’s simmering nicely though and we hope you’ll like it,” wrote the studio representative, as the update has a lot riding on its shoulders considering the massive drop in Arrowhead Game Studios’ recent player count.

Regardless, even if the patch does not fix the issues with ******* balancing, it should at least focus on other problems that players have been facing in the game, like various bugs and glitches.

Helldivers 2 is a community-driven game, and it is only as strong as its player base, which seems to have quite a few ideas to make the title a better experience, like putting a terrifying spin on the Pelican extraction process.
