Former CEO Johan Pilestedt’s Confession Has Confirmed a Nightmare Helldivers 2 Automaton Theory

Helldivers 2 players have been annihilating bugs and bots all this time thinking that they are the good guys but it turns out, Super Earth has been the evil side since the beginning. Super Earth seems to be brainwashing the citizens and Helldivers into thinking that the bugs and bots are the bad guys, but there is speculation that Super Earth only uses them to get resources.

Arrowhead Game Studios’ Helldivers 2

Johan Pilestedt, former CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, recently revealed the initial pitch for the game and it’s clear that the game was initially planned to put players on the “bad side.” Pilestedt compared players’ Helldivers to Stormtroopers, referencing a scene from 1977’s Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope.

conference in Sweden, Johan Pilestedt, former CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, revealed that Helldivers 2 was planned to be “a co-op action shooter where players are put in the shoes of the ‘evil side’ grunts of pop culture.” This statement confirms that players have always been on the evil side, thinking that they are the good guys. Pilestedt further compared the scenario to a scene from Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope in which the first Stormtrooper to enter the ****** Star’s cell block gets shot by Han Solo. He said,

Would you do better climbing into that room trying to capture the bad guys that are trying to take over your lovely ****** Star?

There are many theories online that suggest Super Earth is brainwashing the citizens into believing that the bugs and bots are evil but in reality, the two factions are getting exploited by Super Earth for their resources.

Super Earth is sending in Helldivers to extract resources from Automatons and Terminids

Recently, a player posted a theory on the

subreddit that concludes that Super Earth uses Automatons to extract raw metals. According to this theory, Automatons first utilize raw materials on planets to create pure metals, then it is acquired by Helldivers in the form of Major Orders. The latest Major Order further backs up this theory as players are tasked to liberate Varylia 5 so a production factory for EXO-49 Emancipator Exosuit can be set up there.

Similarly, the game has explicitly stated that the Termind faction is used as a source for E-710. Players believe that they are fighting for democracy but in reality, they are the bad guys who are slaughtering the bugs and bots for Super Earth’s gain.

Helldivers 2 is available on Windows and PlayStation 5.
