10 Years After Launch, A ‘Special Team’ Is Tackling All The Issues in The Sims 4

Electronic Arts recently revealed that a ‘special team’ has been assembled to tackle a ‘Laundry List’ of issues – big and small – in The Sims 4, which was released almost ten years ago. As a cash cow of a product, The Sims 4 went free-to-play some time ago, but the paid-for expansions continue to sell extremely well, even this far after the game hit the open market.

That’s partly why EA is investing in a targeted team to help stabilise the game, but it’s also because there are no expectations of when The Sims 5 – otherwise known as Project Rene – will be revealed.

You may notice we’re investigating more issues than previous months; this is because we’ve assembled a team to invest in the core game experience, including tackling technical issues within The Sims 4 . We have continued to review reported concerns that have interrupted your The Sims 4 gameplay over time, and we recognize that this has caused much frustration. It’s why we have set out to form this focused team, which will be able to increase both the number of fixes we can address and how often we ship these batched updates.

The Sims 4 has a solid community – and it probably always will for as long as it ******** online. It’s a legendary series in its own right, but the sheer volume of expansions and mods available for The Sims 4 have kept the game not only alive for all these years, but thriving. It smashed player records when it went free-to-play, according to Electronic Arts.

In this first major update, EA’s special team delivered fixes for issues being experienced in the base game and a range of core expansions: Cats & Dogs, For Rent, Get to Work, and Seasons.
