MultiVersus’ Relaunch Has Removed 1 of the Most Popular Parts of the Beta

MultiVersus fans are in for some disappointing news, as a leaker has revealed a key piece of information about that game that people definitely won’t be happy to hear.

If you were looking to play as a support character in the game, then unfortunately, your dreams have been cut short. The studios behind the game have taken some harsh decisions, and it might hurt their popularity in the long run.

MultiVersus makes a controversial decision that could ***** them back later on.

MultiVersus finally is nearing its full release after almost a year of waiting. Not only did we get a brand-new trailer, but leaks are spilling out left and right. One *****, however, has left a sour taste in fans’ mouth.

According to the X/

account MultiverSusie, the game is completely getting rid of the Support role that it had.

Characters that were previously supports, like Steven Universe, Gizmo, Velma, and Reindog, have now been shuffled into other roles. Currently, it’s unsure whether their kits have been reworked as well.

When people heard the news, needless to say, they were upset. The decision to remove the role entirely was questioned by confused fans.

It’s typical for fighting games like MultiVersus to mostly have 1v1 matches, so having a Support role was an interesting decision and distinguished it from other games in the genre.

Currently, there’s no explanation from the studios behind the game as to why the role was removed.

It could be that it’s focusing more on 1v1 fights, but we’ll have to wait for a few more days until May 27th for the game’s release to know more.

The game has a tumultuous background that could spell disaster.

After the free-to-play crossover fighting game from Warner Bros. Games and Player First Games went offline in June 2023, people weren’t sure if the project would continue.

It had been live for a year as an open beta, and while initial impressions were good, the game’s growth gradually began to slow down because of lesser updates and no new characters.

When the game closed in June 2023 in preparation for a full release, it genuinely surprised many people; not many realized this was an open-beta product.

Not to mention, people had already spent money to obtain premium content, so imagine their surprise when the game was announced to shut down for the time being.

Now that the game is returning, it feels like a lot of the hype around the game has ***** down.

Fans had to wait a long time, there’s not been much marketing around the game, and the concept of a free-to-play brawler with microtransactions doesn’t seem to be appealing for some people.

That’s why, we’d like to ask you: Have you played the game? What are your thoughts on the Support role being permanently removed? Feel free to share your thoughts and feelings with us in the comments below!
