[STEAM] Capcom reveals new characters for Street Fighter 6, including Final Fantasy’s Tifa Lockhart, at Summer Game Fest 2026

The rumors are true: Tifa is coming to Street Fighter 6.

At Summer Game Fest 2026 today, June 5, Capcom unveiled a new trailer for the fourth year of Street Fighter 6 announcing four new characters, most notably including the popular Final Fantasy VII character Tifa Lockhart. The names of other new Street Fighter characters revealed during today’s presentation are Bosch, Arjun, and Yasmine.

After the trailer reveal, Final Fantasy developer Naoki Hamaguchi and Street Fighter 6 director Takayuki Nakayama took the Summer Game Fest stage to share their excitement about the upcoming crossover between their series and share more details about Tifa’s involvement in Street Fighter 6.

“We cannot show it today, but we adapted an iconic Final Fantasy element to the battle experience,” Hamaguchi said during the presentation.

Rumors of Tifa Lockhart’s incorporation into Street Fighter 6 have been swirling around the internet in recent weeks, with leakers reporting the news and in-game files teasing “Visitors from Another World.” However, Capcom did not officially confirm the new character reveal until Summer Game Fest today.

Currently, there are 12 downloadable characters available for gameplay in Street Fighter 6, with Capcom rolling out four new characters during every year of the game’s existence. Yasmine is scheduled to come out on August 3, 2026, Arjun is slated for release in autumn 2026, Tifa will come out in early 2027, and Bosch will be released in spring 2027, according to a tweet by the official Street Fighter 6 account.

“We hope you all look forward to what’s coming next,” Nakayama said during the presentation.
