game, you play a "greatest hits" pastiche of the Caped Crusader's iconic moments. Apropos to this, there are numerous minifigure costumes and Batmobiles that you can unlock through gameplay, which span the breadth of Batman's vigilante career.

There are also four physical LEGO sets that – if you purchase them – will unlock their corresponding vehicles in the game. We built three of these four sets, and here are our thoughts, along with photos of each Batmobile, both in real-life and in-game.

How to Unlock the Digital Items?
After you buy one of these sets, scan the QR code on the front of the instruction booklet. This will prompt you to log into your LEGO Insiders account (

for LEGO Insiders Points and also claim your free digital item.

The app will give you a one-time use code. Go to the game's title screen and select the option to Redeem Code. Punch in the code you received, and the digital item will unlock.

Be aware that the game opens with a lengthy tutorial Prologue sequence, during which you train abroad with R'as al Ghul. You won't be able to use your digital unlockables until you reach Chapter 1.

LEGO DC Batman: Batman Logo
A 674-piece anniversary set celebrating 20 years of LEGO Batman, this displayable logo is textured with greebles, which makes it visually distinctive and engaging up close. It comes with a commemorative gold variant Batman minifigure, which will unlock as an optional skin if you redeem the set's code.

LEGO DC Batman: Batman v Superman Batmobile
Armor plated and highly detailed, the Ben Affleck-era LEGO Batmobile has a grey color scheme and lots of attachments onto the car's frame. Here is a photo of this Batmobile, which we fully built:

And here are two photos of the same vehicle unlocked in-game. You can purchase the standard vehicle with in-game "stud" currency (45,000 studs), so this amounts to an early, free unlock. But the gold variant is exclusive to purchasing the physical LEGO set.

LEGO DC Batman: The Batman Batmobile
This is the Robert Pattinson-era LEGO Batmobile, and it is the most conventional and grounded of the three vehicles; it looks like a modified car, rather than something fanciful ripped from the comics pages. It is also the biggest, at 330 pieces.

Out of the three sets, I found this one to be the most fun and engaging to build. Here is a photo of our real-life build.

And here are the in-game depictions of the same vehicle. The standard vehicle is unlocked post-tutorial, and costs no studs. The gold variant, however, is exclusive to purchasing the real set.

LEGO DC Batman: Batman & Robin Batmobile
And lastly, we have the George Clooney-era LEGO Batmobile, which retains director's Joel Schumacher's flair for theatrical, over-the-top presentation. It has massive fins, blood-red trim, and the sleekest exterior of the three vehicular builds.

Here is our real-life build of the physical set.

And here are the digital equivalents, unlocked in-game. The standard digital version is purchaseable with in-game currency (50,000 studs), and so purchasing the physical LEGO set makes it a free unlockable. The gold version, however, is exclusive to buying the real set. Personally, I think the ostentatiousness of the gold works really well on the digital model.
