Eurovision winner Nemo explains how they broke their trophy

Swiss singer Nemo was greeted by hundreds of fans at Zurich airport after winning the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden with their song The Code.

Speaking to the press, they described the moment they accidentally broke the trophy: “I lift it and when I put it down, it just shattered.”‘

Nemo was later seen wearing bandages on stage after sustaining deep cuts to their thumb.

Nemo became the first non-binary singer to win Eurovision with their song explaining how they came to terms with their identity.
