Hardwood is one of the most used resources in Windrose that's required in several recipes (including upgrades), and finding it can be a tricky task. Once you're past the beginner stage and unlock Foothills, you can begin farming this particular variant of wood.

However, you'll have to look in specific zones to find Hardwood.

How to get Hardwood in Windrose

Hardwood is a specific type of tree bark that's found in the Foothills biome. It can be found by chopping down Divi-Divi trees. These trees won't have fixed locations (since maps are procedurally generated), but you'll find them inside the islands.

  : This will be your first fishing rod inside the game, which will allow you to catch various fish. You can use them to craft various meals that provide buffs.
• Many weapons require Hardwood to be crafted for the first time.
• Several melee items, like a Halberd, need Hardwood for you to craft them.

Additionally, Hardwood can be processed into Timber, which is a crafting ingredient in itself. In short, the need for Hardwood never really reduces, irrespective of where you're currently at an advantage. Hence, chop down Divi-Divi trees whenever you spot them on a Foothills island.
