The Pokémon Go Tour: Kalos 2026 event is now live across all regions, and there's an important decision to make regarding the An X-ceptional Yarn research.

The special research requires you to choose between the X and Y paths, and your choice will decide whether you encounter Xerneas and Yveltal. You have to choose at the start of the special branching research, and you can't pick both.

X vs Y: Which one should you pick in Pokémon Go

To make your pick, you'll need to own the Pokémon Go Tour Kalos Global ticket. This will allow you to make your choice for the Special Research path. The main factor will be which legendary you want. There are two up for grabs: Xerneas and Yveltal.

If you want to get an encounter with Xerneas, pick path X.If you want to set up an encounter with Yveltal, you have to opt for Y. You'll be rewarded with a medal based on your choice, and you'll get more rewards from your chosen path.
