ARC Raiders is packed with loads of different robots roaming the wilds, imposing their will as supreme rulers of the material world enthroned high in Heaven as new gods of the Earth. But we haven't seen to many of them and more variance is always welcome, and players are here to deliver.

user EthanDavidUnderhill has embarked (pun intended) on a quest to create as many interesting concepts for potential new ARCs as possible, some of which are as genius as they come. Thus far, they have devised six proposed ARCs, which I can only hope Embark Studios will adopt into the game. They range from standard variants, following the design philosophy of those already in the game, to machine-made horrors beyond comprehension that'd keep you up at night.

Two of the latter kind are the Basilisk, a snake-like machine prowling the forests and waters of the topside world, searching for opportunities to pounce; the other is the Widow, modeled after a spider, or rather Shelob or Ungoliant, walking on many legs and carrying a deadly saw on its head, patrolling the wastes.

EthanDavidUnderhill seems to have a thing for inconspicuous ARCs, as they have devised things more sinister still. Their latest proposal, the Parrot, is a literal Dark Souls mimic pretending to be a breachable container that turns into a sour surprise for any raider not being careful about what they're trying to open.

Other proposals range from literal fighter jets to Snitches on steroids, all of which could have a place under the topside sun. The suggestions are so well-worked out that it'd be a crying shame not to have them added into the game, at least in some capacity, and I certainly hope that Embark is keeping a close eye on this creator.

So far, Embark itself hasn't been so keen on adding new ARCs. Some, like the theorized Emperor that can be seen far off into the distance on The Blue Gate, linger merely as ideas and concepts and, well, conspiracy theories among the player base.

It's almost guaranteed that we'll see more of these things come out, as focus shifts from pure gameplay considerations to expanding the experience, so let's keep our fingers crossed for something rather cool (like these suggestions above).
