Screenshot and remix by Destructoid Cooling Fans can be found in Technological loot zones, which are located on just about every map in the game. However, we've had the most luck with them when raiding the Launch Towers on the Spaceport map, specifically the very top parts. All the containers and tables are chock full of every kind of item you can think of, including Cooling Fans, which tend to spawn quite often (you'll usually get at least one per run, unless your luck is really bad that day). On the other hand, this item can spawn within Server Racks, breachable containers that spawn on a lot of the maps, but are most easily accessed on Dam Battlegrounds. They can only be opened if you have the relevant perk unlocked in the Survival tree, which I suggest you get not only for the Cooling Fans, but for a lot of additional great loot that spawns within them as well. Cooling Fans are, as said above, necessary for the Expeditions, so you'd do well to have a few lying in your inventory just in case they're required for any further events.
